Food is Lauren’s love language. She inherited a love for cooking from her mom, and eating good food brings her joy. Most recently, she has fallen in love with growing her own food.
When Lauren became a mom in 2015, she got curious: Could food also have the power to help heal some health issues she and her family were experiencing? The answer she learned was a resounding yes! Even though she considered herself healthy, had been an athlete her entire life, and even worked in corporate health + wellness, Lauren was shocked by what she learned about nutrition and our food system. Lauren started digging more and more, and her love for food grew into a respect and admiration for its power to not only satisfy our hunger, but to truly nourish our bodies and help heal and prevent disease!
In 2020, Lauren became a Certified Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN). Her goal? To provide resources and simple solutions to others so they, too, could harness the power of medicine that can be found in food and lifestyle. She became interested in the impact of toxins on our health as well and thus completed IIN’s Detox Your Life course to further increase her knowledge..
Lauren and her husband Stephen have two young children. When she’s not in the kitchen cooking and experimenting with new recipes, she enjoys traveling with the family in their RV and spending time outdoors hiking. Lauren has a degree in Exercise & Sport Science from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she also played Women’s Volleyball for four years.
